1. Introduction

LendSharp ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and AI-powered auto loan pre-qualification service (the "Service").

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

When you use our pre-qualification tool, we collect: the type of vehicle you are interested in (new, used, or refinance), your estimated price range, your estimated credit score range, your ZIP code, your first name, your email address, and optionally your phone number.

Information collected automatically:

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain technical information including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the dates and times of your visits. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, and improve the Service.

What we do NOT collect:

We do not collect your Social Security Number (SSN), bank account numbers, full credit reports, driver's license numbers, or any other sensitive financial identifiers during the pre-qualification process.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide you with personalized auto loan pre-qualification estimates. Match you with relevant lending partners and manufacturer promotions in your area. Communicate your results and any applicable hidden deals or special rates. Improve and optimize our AI algorithms and Service. Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support. Send you Service-related communications (you may opt out at any time). Comply with applicable legal requirements.

4. Credit Checks

Our pre-qualification process uses a "soft pull" (also known as a soft inquiry) which does not affect your credit score. A soft pull allows us to estimate your rate range without impacting your creditworthiness.

A "hard pull" on your credit will only occur if you choose to formally apply with one of our lending partners. This will always require your explicit, separate consent and will be clearly disclosed to you before it occurs.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your information with: lending partners you choose to connect with (only with your explicit consent), service providers who assist us in operating the Service (subject to confidentiality obligations), and law enforcement or regulatory bodies when required by law.

We will never share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your express opt-in consent.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, and strict access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Pre-qualification data is retained for up to 12 months, after which it is automatically deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you. Correct inaccurate or incomplete information. Request deletion of your personal information. Opt out of marketing communications. Request a portable copy of your data. Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in the Contact section below.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to ensure our website functions properly. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our site. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Our Service does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
